Honouring a Visit: Minister Mark Patterson at Keraplast

On Tuesday, 5th August, Keraplast had the privilege of hosting Mark Patterson, Associate Minister of Agriculture, for a site visit to our Christchurch facility. The visit was part of the Minister’s regional engagement efforts and offered a valuable opportunity to showcase our operations and connect over shared goals for New Zealand’s wool sector.

Accompanied by Jaap Knegtmans (Ministerial Advisor), Mike Stephens (MPI Official), and Mark Patterson, the delegation toured our facility and met with members of the Keraplast team. The visit was coordinated by Keryn Strowger and supported by the SET team, with presentations led by Scott Haycock and Steve Attkins.

The discussions focused on the potential for government support to unlock high-value export opportunities and strengthen the wool industry’s contribution to regional development. We shared insights into our keratin-based technologies and the collaborative research underway with universities and industry partners.

The visit was a meaningful moment for Keraplast, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of New Zealand’s wool economy. We’re grateful to Minister Patterson and his team for their time and interest, and we look forward to continuing the conversation.
